We arrived in Ha Long around noon. The place is crowded, I was a bit afraid to see so many tourists! We visited a small museum / shop about pearls, that are produced in the area, then got set for our boat cruise.
We got there and were welcome by a nice cup of tea. We discovered our beautiful room! there are less than twenty tourists on the boat, mainly French. It's not a big boat but we have a nice room with a private shower, nice decoration.
We had lunch pretty fast when everyone got on board, we share a table with two friendly French girls. Lunch is really good, we had shrimps, vongoles, fish fried with lemon, fish pâté tomato sauce... Pretty nice! We sailed around the bay on our way to a floating village, it's an amazing landscape. There we visited the village on smaller boats.
In the evening we learned to fold nems, everybody tried, then we tried to fish some squids. I got nothing but at least I tried.
We had the nems as appetizers, along with shrimps, and had fish and chicken for dinner.
The sunset was beautiful and we'll try to wake up early to catch the sunrise! We have a small balcony and there is a beautiful dock on the top level, we'll take some pictures!
OK, next day :
We visited a small cave in the limestone islands of the bay, and had a quick swim around the boat. It got a bit sunny around 10am, so overall we were pretty lucky as it's usually quite foggy!
It was probably the best shower we had in Vietnam, with the most pressure and really warm if needed, which is weird because we're on a boat!
We'll have lunch on the boat then we'll get off and go back to Hanoï with our guide who waited for us on the shore.
Tonight and tomorrow we'll be on our own, we'll have time to buy some souvenirs and enjoy the cuisine!
