Our flights are operated by China Eastern, the tickets were quite cheap but the flight was pretty uncomfortable. There is no personal screen attached to the seats (most airlines have that), the seats were hard...
Shanghai is the same as before, the place is at times really crowded, dirty, smelly... (Julie, seriously, prepare yourself) We did a bit of shopping, and we visited places we didnt visit two years ago! We were tired but its still a nice place to visit. We had Beijing Duck at a restaurant called Quanjude, its the chain of restaurant we went to two years ago! Delicious as usual! To go from the airport to the city we took the train called Maglev (magnetic levitation). This train goes up to 430km/h! Impressive :o
Overall Shanghai was a nice stop :p
We took the flight to Melbourne on Sunday evening. The lady at the checkin counter was so slow we almost missed the flight but in the end we still got in.
The seats were more comfortable, and I was more tired, so I managed to sleep in the plane... in the morning we arrived in Melbourne, the place is clean and fresh compared to Shanghai! We were afraid of being controlled by the customs for imported food, and that instead they would find our newly bought clothes, but they didnt. I dont know, all the Chinese people around us were controlled but we werent, that is strange.
We picked up our rented car, and we went to see my Uncle and his family in his house. We didnt do a lot of visiting during the day, but we got a sim card (you can call us at number +61487625004) and in the evening we saw a bit of Melbourne by night!
I had a chat with my friend Jean on the phone, it has been a while, it was nice to hear his delicate voice :p
Tomorrow we will be on our way on the great ocean road, we will sleep in a place called Warrnambool. Before that we will try to visit the Victoria Market, apparently it is quite a famous market in Melbourne, and maybe visit a bit of the botanical garden!
Cheers!
